Description

Our natural vegetable tanned goat skins, are full grain, small whole hides. These are premium grade TR1 selection, lovely clean soft skins- the nicest goat we’ve ever stocked, it really is beautiful leather! This article is ideally suited for book binding and other small leather goods. The natural nature of this leather means that it can also easily be dyed by hand. 

We’re now stocking two thicknesses of this product:
0.8/1.0mm. Average skin size between 8.00-11.00 SQFT
1.1/1.3 mm. Average skin size between: Small – 6.00-10.50 SQFT or Large – 10.75-14.75 SQFT

    Yesterday I ordered a mixture of leathers including a Premium grade Goat hide. My delivery arrived just before lunch today. All the products were excellent, but the Goat Skin was perfect with no blemishes or imperfections. My first purchase from J Woods, but certainly not my last.

    Firstly service was second to none when it came to answering my question and secure packing and shipping of the skin. Jack was awesome, friendly and gave great advice.

    The skin it self is not great. Couple of areas have deep cuts (which look like it maybe happened during splitting) on the flesh side which almost go completely through. Thickness consistency isnt great either, it varies from 1mm up to 1.6mm (most tanneries work to around 0.3mm tolerance) which is kinda annoying as I requested this was checked prior to shipping as it needed to be the advertised 1.2mm or under and now means this isnt right for what I needed it for. As for the product cant say I would buy again in a hurry.

    For full disclosure- I probably wont send it back and I havent messaged J wood leathers with a complaint as I will just use it for something else. I have no doubt they would offer soluntions and continue they great service they have already given.
