Rio waxy pull up smooth sides are a natural, rustic leather which shows the growth lines and organic characteristics of the animal skin. Some of the skins include brand marks, this is normal.
The smooth surface of the leather has been oiled to create a lovely waxy drag feel. When stretched or pulled, the pull-up effect causes the leather to lighten in colour creating a distressed or antique finish, enabling the creation of authentic, rustic looking leather goods.
This leather is especially popular with shoe and boot makers. It is also suitable for satchels, bags, backpacks, also tablet and phone cases.

Really nice quality leather, quite soft but very durable and ideal for the things we are making. The only problem we had is that there are 3 cup ring marks on one end of the leather that we only noticed after cutting out the front of a bag we are making for my daughters birthday which meant cutting it out again. Lesson learned! we will check everything before cutting out but that is why we gave 4 stars.
