Jack Wood
Managing Director
Jack is the Managing Director of J. Wood Leathers and the driving force behind our exciting new chapter! Jack joined the company straight out of school in 2009 and worked alongside his parents to gain knowledge and understanding of the leather and highland wear industries
In December 2023, Jack bought the company. Now combining fresh ideas with a new look, Jack’s dedication to the mission, heritage and core values of the family business remains steadfast. When he’s not leading the charge at work, Jack enjoys traveling the world and is always up for a good pint.
Amy Peatfield
Customer Service Manager
Amy is the head of our customer services team and the go-to problem solver at J. Wood Leathers. Whether you’re calling with a product question, seeking advice, or encountering a rare issue with delivery or the website, Amy’s the friendly voice and expert behind the scenes. She also manages our social media accounts, making sure your experience with us is top-notch. Outside the office, Amy loves to travel and unwind with a good glass of red wine or a gin and tonic. Professional, efficient, and always ready to help—Amy’s got you covered!
MARK Varley
Warehouse Operative & Product Specialist
Mark, affectionately known as “Markos,” is a valued member of our team and has been with us since 2016, making him our longest-serving employee after Jack. If you’ve visited our warehouse in recent years, you’ve likely met Markos, whose in-depth knowledge of our leather stocks is unmatched. Always ready with professional and friendly advice, Markos is a trusted resource for both colleagues and customers alike. Outside of work, Mark enjoys watching darts and strumming his guitar, bringing the same passion to his hobbies as he does to helping our customers.
Liz Mitchell
Finance Manager
Meet Liz, our Finance Manager and the genius behind the numbers! With a calculator in one hand and a cup of tea in the other, she expertly keeps our finances on point. When Liz isn’t balancing the books, she’s planning her next trip to Guadeloupe, the stunning island where her favourite show Death in Paradise is filmed. Fun fact: Liz made a cameo in an episode last year—proof that she’s not just a star with numbers!
Tom Bowman
Warehouse Operative & Customer Service Assistant
Meet Tom, the youngest rockstar on our team! Tom started out as a warehouse operative, tirelessly packing your orders, but his warm personality quickly led him to take on additional customer service roles, becoming familiar to many of our visitors. Outside of work, Tom trades his packing skills for drumsticks, rocking out as the talented drummer in his band- The Sheratons. Whether he’s handling your orders or hitting the stage, Tom brings energy and passion to everything he does!
Vicki Phillips
Customer Service Assistant
Meet Vicki, the newest member of our customer services team, who joined us in early 2024. Working alongside Amy, Vicki is here to help with any questions, advice, or leather samples you might need. She also ensures your orders are processed and dispatched quickly. When she’s not busy helping our customers, Vicki is a proud and devoted full-time dance mum to her daughter, balancing her work life with motherhood like a pro!
Geoff Penny-Larter
Warehouse Manager
Meet Geoff, the latest addition to our team and our new Warehouse Manager. Joining forces with Tom and Markos, Geoff is bringing his experience to streamline our warehouse operations. He’s all about efficiency, from maintaining stock levels to optimizing space so we can carry even more product lines. But don’t let his role as a proud grandfather “G-pops” fool you—Geoff has a passion for MMA and once dreamed of being a samurai! With Geoff on board, our warehouse is in expert hands.
