Our new range of Indiana vegetable tanned shoulders are a beautiful full grain leather, fully dyed through with a semi aniline finish and a slight pull-up. This gives a wonderful depth to the leather and an almost vintage, slight antique look. This premium article is made on top grade European raw material and is ideal for a wide variety of high end applications and uses such as belts, gun slips, cartridge bags, phone/tablet cases and satchels to name but a few.
This vegetable tanned leather is tanned using natural products and traditional methods, to produce a more sustainable and eco-friendly article. The porous nature of the leather allows it to absorb water and become extremely malleable when wet, enabling you to form and mould the leather to your required shape and as it dries the leather will retain this shape. Our Indiana Shoulders are also suitable for carving, tooling & embossing.
These shoulder are available in two thicknesses: 3.0/3.5mm & 1.8/2.0mm. Both weights available in the following vibrant and clear colours: Flame Red, Deep Purple, Midnight Blue & BeerBottle Green.
Skin sizes are between 13-17 SQFT and shoulder will cut belt lengths of 50-55 inches.

First time using j wood leathers, but wanted to support a fellow Yorkshire company. I’ve been looking for a specific colour and look, and the antique bottle green Indiana shoulders fitted the bill. With a great price for a premium shoulder I decided to give it a go, and I wasn’t disappointed!! Arrived quickly and well packaged, the colour and vintage pull up was fantastic, evenly coloured back and front..cuts like a dream and burnishes to a lovely shine, and with a soft to medium temper will come in handy for many projects…I think j wood will be my go to for leather going forward, thanks guys 😊
