Description

Blazer is our first ever range of fully vegetable tanned split leathers. Veg tanning is the most sustainable and environmentally friendly way to produce leather, using all-natural ingredients such as tree bark.

The splits are then drummed and finished with a light pull up effect. This means that when the leather is stretched, folded or tensioned, the base colour of the skin “pulls up” resulting in a distressed / antique effect. Ideal if you’re looking to give your leather goods that sought-after vintage look.

The Blazer splits are resin backed, so lining is not required. However, these splits are not dyed through- the majority are finished on either a black or biscuit back.  This leather is ideal for belts, satchels, straps, bags and all manner of small leathergoods. Large, regular shaped skins will measure between 22-25 SQFT, so offer great cutting of large patterns and good length for strapping and belts. We have a range of 12 colours available.

Please note Blazer is a non-stock item, so please contact us to order as delivery times may vary.

I must say these are quality hides, even though they are splits the top surface has a nice quality look and feel added to by the subtle distressed look. I have used these hides for belts, straps and also tried satchels all of them worked well with the thickness of the Blazer and its subtle handle. Highly recommend this hide and the usual excellent service we always receive from the team at J wood Leather.
