Whole Butt splits are a very versatile, inexpensive leather suitable for a wide variety of applications and leather goods, predominantly satchels, belts and straps. Other uses include: instrument/music cases, tablet & smart phone cases, sporrans, pet collars & leads as well as various industrial & marine applications. Over the years we have refined and improved our range of splits considerably, we stock good clean skins, not just the top workable surface, but our splits also have very clean backs- showing little vain or loose flesh- this makes them ideal for use in the manufacture of unlined satchels, bags and belts. Large, regular shaped whole butts, offer great cutting of large patterns and good length for strapping and belts.
We stock a wide variety of Thicknesses from 1.2 mm all the way up to 3.0 mm. We stock a selection of different finishes and prints including Pig Print, Fine Hair Cell and Semi-patent (high-shine).
Our core range consists of 2.4/2.6 mm splits, with a fine hair cell print, which are readily available from stock in the following 18 colours: Black, Navy, Dark Brown, Chestnut, Pistachio, London Tan, White, Ivory, Pillar Box Red, Emerald Green, Purple, Yellow, Sam Brown, Baby Blue, Baby Pink, Oxblood, Elephant Grey and Vintage Blazer (The blazer finish creates a distressed pull up effect.). Average skin size: 16 – 24 Sqft.
