Following on from our hugely popular Rio Smooth range, we have now introduced a grained version. This is a rustic looking antique vintage leather, which shows the growth lines and organic characteristics of the animal skin. Please note that some of the skins include brand marks as seen in the above photo. The surface of the leather has been oiled to create a lovely waxy drag feel. Furthermore, the pull-up effect causes the leather to lighten in colour when stretched or pulled creating a distressed or antique finish, allowing for the creation of authentic, rustic looking leather goods. This waxy pull up effect is emphasised by the even crushed grain which has been printed on to the surface of the skins, ideal if you’re trying to create leather goods with a rugged, vintage aesthetic.
This article is especially popular with shoe and boot makers, it is also suitable for satchels, bags and backpacks as well as tablet and phone cases.
